Hans Young Binter is an American musician, pianist and composer based in New York City,
working within the city's vibrant creative music scene
in addition to collaborations across musical styles and artistic disciplines.
His practice is primarily improvisatory, and seeks to utilize the multitude of expressive possibilities that improvised music can contain,
all while fostering a music-making environment grounded in foundational elements of music such as conversation and ritual.
Hans is in pursuit of a personal narrative voice - aiming to unfurl a vision of the beauty found in the ordinary and the neglected though non-linear fragments and tangents.
He is grateful to have been guided and encouraged by many great elders and predecessors in creative music and art.
